As a proud Uptown Philadelphia native, Lyric Hamilton's career in Sports, Entertainment and Events spans almost 15 years. While attending Central High School (272nd Class), she got her start in the school’s Stage Crew, where she helped run the auditorium’s daily operations, whether it was a student body assembly meeting, talent show or musical production. Falling in love with the craft, she worked to eventually oversee all operations of the Stage Crew by her Senior Year. Hamilton earned a scholarship for her efforts on the Stage Crew upon graduation whilst earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from the prestigious school.

Hamilton would go on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Pennsylvania State University with a Stage Management emphasis at the School of Theatre. While completing a slew of traditional theatre shows in various roles ranging from 2nd Assistant to PSM over the course of three years, she also took advantage of many other opportunities to expand her production knowledge. Prior to serving on the Executive Board for Movin’ On as the Production Director and School of Theatre Liaison in her Senior Year, she was a key committee member for two years. Hamilton also earned an internship with both the Bryce Jordan Center and the Wells Fargo Center during her time at Penn State, allowing her access behind the curtain of major venues.

Following graduation at Penn State, a role was created for Hamilton at the Wells Fargo Center as an Event Coordinator in the Event Services department. During her seven-year tenure at the Center, she executed and produced over 400 events. These events would vary from hockey to concerts to lacrosse, with her main clients being the Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia Wings, and major concert promoters like Live Nation and AEG. She would eventually reach multiple major milestones during her time at the Center including being responsible for the venue’s groundbreaking Code of Conduct—which would become inspiration for the National Hockey League’s Code of Conduct, earning an Executive Scholarship from the company which assisted her in receiving her Executive MBA degree from Temple University in 2024, being promoted multiple times to eventually become Director, Events, and becoming an award recipient of Temple University’s 2025 30 Under 30 cohort. Her work over six seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers would make her the youngest and first Black Woman to oversee Venue Management for an NHL Team.

Following Hamilton’s decision to leave the Center in late 2024, she has chosen to pursue her long awaited goals of entrepreneurship and philanthropy work—she decided that it was time to break the fourth wall. Follow the rest of Lyric’s story on LinkedIn.
